Andrew Hamel introduces Raylib, explaining its basic API, setup, and how to work with textures and sound in C.

raylib is a simple and easy-to-use library to enjoy videogames programming. This is the way that the creator of my favourite C API, raysan5 describes his creation. In this video it's a quick "getting started" to explain the basic raylib example and a quick sample of a few of the api's most important features, being textures and sound. Raylib is different to a lot of stuff you've heard of and similar to things you haven't. For someone interested in games programming and comfortable with a language raylib is bound-to, it's nice to skip the process of learning an engine and get straight to building one instead. You have to get SDL included and building with your project's compiler. [I don't know if you're using an IDE or something free, but the setup is similar to C++.] You have to download SDL2.0/3.0, point the compiler at the lib file, include the include folder in your program where you write SDL code, and add the bin file to where you build your exe. Raylib is the same (point the compiler at the lib file, include the include folder in your program where you write Raylib code, and a…
