What people say. Recommended for its insights into the Raspberry Pi supply chain decisions and how they prioritized business customers over hobbyists.

There's a great interview with Eben Upton that explains a lot of this, including what "Business customers" actually are (i.e. mostly mom and pop style enterprises) link to this video

On “Tell HN: Digikey has 1822 Pi4 8GB in stock”

This interview with one of the founders from Jeff Geerling was quite insightful, definitely check it out if you haven't already! link to this video

On “Configure a Raspberry Pi as a USB Device”

They've chosen to prioritize selling to businesses ordering hundreds of Pis for field-deployed devices, over individual hobbyists ordering single-digit quantities for tinkering and hacking ( link to this video ).

On “E-scooter company Spin apparently uses Raspberry Pi 4s as part of their vehicles”

I'm still upset that Raspberry Pi was focused on ensuring institutional customers (like these electric scooters) could order thousands of Pis, while leaving hobbyists trying to order single-digit quantities scrambling through years-long waiting lists and listings which get snapped up in seconds ( link to this video ).
