  • A classic. People kept recommending it from 2012 to 2015.
  • May be out of date. The tools, versions or practices it shows have likely moved on.
  • An opinion. It argues one side of a question engineers disagree on.

Intermediate. Assumes working knowledge.

Systems programmingWeb developmentNode.js, Deno and BunPerformance and optimization

An early, highly critical opinion piece arguing that Node.js fails to scale, blocks I/O, and is poorly suited for data-intensive applications.

Node.js claims it is "a platform built on Chrome's JavaScript runtime for easily building fast, scalable network applications. Node.js uses an event-driven, non-blocking I/O model that makes it lightweight and efficient, perfect for data-intensive real-time applications that run across distributed devices." But it does block, it doesn't scale and it sucks for data intense applications, and isn't optimized for realtime.
