Systems programmingWeb developmentNode.js, Deno and BunPerformance and optimization
An early, highly critical opinion piece arguing that Node.js fails to scale, blocks I/O, and is poorly suited for data-intensive applications.
Node.js claims it is "a platform built on Chrome's JavaScript runtime for easily building fast, scalable network applications. Node.js uses an event-driven, non-blocking I/O model that makes it lightweight and efficient, perfect for data-intensive real-time applications that run across distributed devices." But it does block, it doesn't scale and it sucks for data intense applications, and isn't optimized for realtime. What people say. Shared as a historical example of early, controversial, and highly debated criticisms of Node.js.
