Texas Instruments explains the factors impacting the impedance of decoupling networks, including PCB trace length, via selection, and capacitor parasitics.

Download and install TINA-TI, the preferred simulator used exclusively with TI Precision Labs. ti.com/tool/tina-ti This video looks at factors impacting the impedance of the decoupling network, such as PCB trace length, via selection, and capacitor parasitics.  The video also covers how current flows relative to the decoupling network and associated power and ground planes.  Let’s start by looking at the decoupling network from a transient and AC impedance perspective.  Download and install the Analog Engineer's Calculator. ti.com/tool/analog-engineer-calc? Download the Analog Engineer's Pocket Reference e-book. ti.com/amplifier-circuit/op-amps/precision/support-training.… Search TI precision ADCs, and find reference designs and other technical resources: www.ti.com/precisionadc. ti.com/precisionadc

What people say. Recommended for understanding how capacitor parasitics, package sizes, and PCB layout affect decoupling network impedance.

The Myth of Three Capacitor Values I read this article about using different values for decoupling capacitors as a bad habit, and it is based on 50 years recommendation. basically, in the past, they were using a THT capacitor whose size is different based on the capacitance value which affects the ESR and ESL, but nowadays you can find multiple capacitor values with the same package. and last week Ti release this link to this video talking about the same thing. is this something you do in your job? why do some datasheets still recommend using different capacitance values for decoupling? thanks
