Ryan Ries introduces his series on programming a retro NES-style video game from scratch in C without external libraries.

We are going to program a video game from scratch using almost no help from any libraries or engines. Just our code. Join us! This video game is going to be retro NES-style, evocative of the "Dragon Quest" or "Dragon Warrior" games from the '80s. Best viewed in 1440p resolution. If the high resolution versions are not available yet, it's probably because I just uploaded the video recently and YouTube needs to finish its processing. Come back in a few hours. Any questions or comments, please post them in the comment section below. I will either reply to your comment, or, if it's an especially interesting question or comment, I will discuss it in the next video. What people say. Recommended alongside Handmade Hero as a great series for learning how to build a game from scratch in C.

I've recently come across Handmade Hero and Ryan Ries,' "Make a C Game from Scratch." I want to follow along with either one of these but was wondering what kind of limitations I should be ready to resolve while using a Mac. More or less the title. I've come across HandmadeHero and \Ryan Ries\([video and found that there are compatibility issues between macbooks and being able to complete these projects. I have both the older model intel macbook and a silicon macbook. I figured the older model might be better off to work with ofc. Aside from that, how should I change my build environment to build either of these projects?
