A walkthrough of a Clojure development workflow using Spacemacs and CIDER, demonstrating REPL-driven development tips.

Companion blog post: curiousprogrammer.net/2017/05/12/clojure-development-workflo… Spacemacs and Cider are great tools for Clojure Development. In this video, I'll show you my usual development workflow. Hopefully, you will learn a bunch of useful tips how to improve your experience when working with these tools.

There are a number of video's and talks describing people's workflow. This one uses Spacemacs, but if you search for something like clojure workflow more pop up.

On “Alternative for the Purely Functional REPL course?”

…st getting started and want to have a feel of how the REPL-driven workflow **feels like**, I guess you can look for a few tutorials in YouTube or Vimeo, specially if you feel strongly about any particular code editor. Most Clojurians use either Emacs, Intellij, Vim or VS Code. With that in mind, here's a few videos that I found representative: * [video (Spacemacs, but you'll get the idea) * [video (Intellij) * [video (Vim) * http://www.parens-of-the-dead.com/ (Emacs). This is great if you want to get the feel of it, but it will be hard to understand everything that is going on because of its speed; however it shows expert usage of Emacs to do everything, from dependency management to…

On “Clojure/Cljs webdev - I'm in need of directions”

That's great. I use Emacs and CIDER but a couple of coworkers started using Spacemacs with the Clojure layer that includes CIDER, Clojure-mode and a few more things (CLJ Refactor and more) and it seems to be nicely integrated so that might be interesting for you as well. The idea of the editor integration is that you'll be creating new functions or re-evaluating code and sending them to the REPL running in the background really often (so you get a quick feedback loop), which is something it takes a while to get used to if you come from other languages. On “Tutorial for spacemacs + closure for beginners?”

…with spacemacs and watching different tutorials, but it was hard. Recently (thank God) I found proto repl (used with atom) and it is amazing. If you don't have to use spacemacs and you are used to a more new type of ide, I recommend that. (I was trying to use nightcode, cursive plugin in intellij but spacemacs felt better, until proto repl). ( [video <-- proto repl) but if you want to stick with spacemacs I was learning from multiple videos writing down important keybindings [video <-- this one is good But I was watching also multiple videos searching in youtube combinations of clojure spacemacs…
