Robert Feranec explains the theory and practice behind PCB power distribution networks and why decoupling capacitor placement is critical.

What people say. Recommended as an excellent explanation of how bypass capacitor values and PCB layout affect microcontroller stability.

On “Bypass capacitor value”

There is an amazing video by Robert Feranec who shows how in theory (and practice) these values are dependent on PCB layout and actual workload of the MCU (signals it generates). Which is the reason you see whole arrays of bypass caps on some sensitive circuits. link to this video But that's the pro-Level. 1Davide is right with his answer for the bog-standard setup.

On “Can multiple (STM32) MCUs share the same VDD to ground capacitor array”

Thank you so much for that detailed answer. So in essence my assumption is incorrect and the primary purpose is just to supply current when the MCU experiences sudden load? It has nothing to do with spikes in the power supply? Yea no that is a very good reason to not do that ever xD Is that why the schematic calls out the smaller cap to be directly connected to one of the VDD pins? That makes a lot of sense tho. (Reading the PCB guidelines the datasheet does call it out but just for the ADC capacitors.) Makes sense [video Do you mean this video by chance? Its quite long but the introduction seemed quite promising so I will make sure to watch both parts.
