Casey Muratori critiques conventional software design principles like SOLID and Clean Code, arguing they lead to slow and over-engineered software.

kickstarter.com/projects/annarettberg/meow-the-infinite-book… Q&A: youtu.be/cOcaj_cRBvE Rebroadcast of an invited live lecture I gave to infura.io on twitch.tv/molly_rocket. The original had bad audio for the first few minutes, so I re-recorded and spliced it in for this corrected version. Otherwise, it is the same as the original live stream.

On “There’s No Such Thing as Clean Code”

There's a good take on this by Casey Muratori - link to this video And I agree with him. Things like SOLID and "Clean Code" really are just buzzwords nowadays that don't mean anything.

> Additionally I think SOLID principles should be part of every (software) engineer’s skills repertoire. No. I don't agree with Casey Muratori on a lot of things, but he hits the nail on the head about that statement in this video (around 23:00, but I'd suggest you watch the whole thing for context) - link to this video I've walked out of interviews (politely) because I was asked to recite some buzzword bullshit like SOLID.

On “DRY is an over-rated programming principle?”

I think they used that term on purpose. Non-pessimized in this case is the same as optimized, and I believe it's a reference to this video link to this video
