How to implement the startup and boot process of an STM32 Cortex-M microcontroller in C instead of assembly.

This video describes the startup/boot proces of a STM32 Cortex-M microcontroller. I also show how to implement the startup code from STM32CubeMx yourself in C instead of assembler. More information, including code, is available here: embeddedgeek.net/posts/STM32-startup-code/ Part 1: youtu.be/PxQw5_7yI8Q Part 2: youtu.be/xaC5oWwzOt0

What people say. Recommended as a great guide for writing STM32 startup code entirely in C.

On “Is C startup code bad practice?”

Here are an example in how you can write startup code for a STM32 only in C, but there are some GCC specific attributes used. Works just as well as the assembly code that it replaces. link to this video
