On “Suggestions for learning Clojure in a study group?”

I hear my primer is helpful as a starting point. For a more in-depth resource I recommend going through Clojure for the Brave and True. ClojureDocs and Grimoire are very nice language references with lots of examples for using the standard library. I would recommend starting out with Light Table as the editor. It's great for beginners as it's simple to use and has a REPL. Once you're more comfortable with Clojure then you probably want to look at more advanced editors like Cursive or Emacs. Here are a few starting points for doing game dev with Clojure: * Arcadia is a Clojure wrapper for Unity * play-clj is a libGDX wrapper, it's more low level, but lets you run on mobile, this video…

Game development in Clojure (with play-clj)

On “Can you give me some tips for my first real clojure project?”

Quil is nice, but you will need to make a lot of thing by yourself, while play-clj is tailored for the game development. See this video for some examples. My first serious project in Clojure was a sokoban clone. I've used lanterna for output, mostly because Caves of Clojure was using it and I needed some guidance on Clojure development.

On “Would anyone be willing to accept money to train me up in play-clj? You don't have to be an expert, you just have to know more than me.”

Well, here, for free wooo: link to this video https://github.com/oakes/play-clj-examples I started with those 2 resources for learning and could make a simple pong game. play-clj is geared towards learning though, and made some choices I wasn't too keen on, so I ended up just using libgdx (Java game library that play-clj uses) with interop. There are tons of resources on libgdx online.

Depending on your requirements, play-clj could be an option; check this tutorial by James Trunk: link to this video As yogthos mentioned below, phzr looks promising for HTML5+mobile
