Matthew Pickering demonstrates ghc-debug, an out-of-process heap analysis tool, to analyze the memory usage of ghcide.

I will be introducing ghc-debug to Zubin Duggal in the context of using it to analyse memory usage of ghcide. ghc-debug is a out-of-process heap analysis tool which allows you to perform precise heap analysis of Haskell programs. For example, ghc-debug can be used to work out why objects are being retained or to look at fragmentation properties of your heap. gitlab.haskell.org/ghc/ghc-debug
