On “How to crap-talk Ruby and Clojure when the authors of these languages are in the audience”

I found the talk to be very well rounded and was just trying to understand why people were offended. I guess it is not easy to find the right tone since some people just seem to want to be offended. Thomas Arts made a nice talk with the motto "academia and industry needs to talk". Its gonna be a long process until the gap between industry and academia will be closed. I hope the elitists image will disappear over time and people just recognize the value in good type systems.
