Les Jackson presents an eleven-hour comprehensive course on building, deploying, and connecting .NET microservices using Kubernetes, RabbitMQ, and gRPC.

In this step-by-step tutorial I take you through an introduction on building microservices using .NET. As the name suggests we build everything completely from start to finish –with the full scope of the course outlined in the time-stamp section below. However, at a high-level we’ll cover: • Building two .NET Microservices using the REST API pattern • Working with dedicated persistence layers for both services • Deploying our services to Kubernetes cluster • Employing the API Gateway pattern to route to our services • Building Synchronous messaging between services (HTTP & gRPC) • Building Asynchronous messaging between services using an Event Bus (RabbitMQ) To accompany this course I have provided free Kubernetes command and Architecture Cheat Sheet which is available for download when you subscribe to my blog at: dotnetplaybook.com/ 🛒 My Store: lesjackson.creator-spring.com/ 📕 My Book: apress.com/gp/book/978148... 🤩 Patreon Site (Exclusive Member Benefits!): patreon.com/binarythistle 📕 My other courses: lesjackson.net/ 🔗 GitHub Repo: github.com/binarythistle/S04E03---.NET-Microservices-Course- 🔗 Containerizing a .NET App: docs.docker.com/samples/dotnetcore/ 🔗 Insomnia Download: insomnia.rest/download 🔗How to edit your hosts file: howtogeek.com/howto/27350/beginner-geek-how-to-edit-your-hos… 🔗 Dependency Injection in .NET: docs.microsoft.com/en-us/aspnet/core/fundamentals/dependency… ⏲️ Time Codes ⏲️ - PART 1 - INTRODUCTION & Theory - Course Approach - Course Overview - Ingredients & Tooling - What are microservices? - Overview of our microservices - Solution Architecture - Application Architecture - PART 2 - BUILDING THE FIRST SERVICE - Scaffolding the service - Data Layer - Model - Data Layer - DB Context - Data Layer - Repository - Data Layer - DB Preparation - Data Layer - Data Transfer Objects - Controller and Actions PART 3 - DOCKER & KUBERNETES - Review of Docker - Containerizing the Platform Service - Pushing to Docker Hub - Introduction to Kubernetes - Kubernetes Architecture Overview - Deploy the Platform service PART 4 - STARTING OUR 2ND SERVICE - Scaffolding the service - Add a Controller and Action - Overview of Synchronous and Asynchronous Messaging - Adding a HTTP Client - Deploying service to Kubernetes - Adding an API Gateway PART 5 - STARTING WITH SQL SERVER - Adding a Persistent Volume Claim - Adding a Kubernetes Secret - Deploying SQL Server to Kubernetes - Accessing SQL Server via Management Studio - Updating our Platform Service to use SQL Server PART 6 - MULTI-RESOURCE API - End Point Review for Co

On “Any simple microservice example using RabbitMQ?”

This video may help - link to this video It’s an entire course on setting up a micro service architecture with .Net, Docker, Kubernetes and RabbitMQ. It’s very good but also very long, so you can just skip to the bits you’re interested in. Likely won’t have an answer to every question you have but will get you started with what you’re asking for I think!

On “Rebuilding Twitter to learn about Microservices: Stuck”

I initially followed the tutorial in .NET Les Jackon Video. This helped me with the basics, RabbitMQ, GRPC, Docker, Kubernetes. I think that is enough to get started a little? I am currently looking for any company tech blogs as they usually explain their architecture. It is how I got the idea for caching using Redis to create news feeds. High scalability. This site is a nice blog that contains a lot of that info. I also started to look at system design mock interviews on youtube, and also those videos like "How to design Twitter" or something. I am just getting started to be honest. I will probably look into Kafka, Elastic, Cassendra DB in the future. I am really clueless so take this wit…

I have been going through this lengthy, but separated nicely, video on microservices. It takes you from nothing to a full microservices application. Well, I am only about seven hours in and I am sure it will do what it says. It is almost all hands on with just a few slides. I have been watching for about an hour when I have a chance and highly recommend [video Also, go to Udemy and sign up then find a class you want to take. A lot of times they are >$100--put it in your wish list and check back every few days. They will often drop the price to like $15--I think because they want the views so bad or something.

There are a ton of great tutorials on YouTube where a host creates full CRUD application. You can watch it in between development. Just to name a few: link to this video link to this video link to this video
