Steve Jobs presents the first iPhone at Macworld 2007, pitching it as a widescreen iPod, a revolutionary mobile phone, and a breakthrough internet communicator.

This is the iPhone introduction excerpt from the Macworld San Francisco 2007 Keynote Address January 9th, 2007. Steve Jobs made the claim that it was 5 years ahead of any other phone. AppleTV was also introduced that day. I started this YouTube channel in 2006. Because of this video in particular, I can’t monetize the channel unless I take it down - and I just don’t want to do that. It is claimed by Dow Jones, the rightful copyright owner, and it’s been making them thousands of dollars through the years - as it should. But it kind of sucks because I own the other content on my channel like the rabid coyote video, but can’t even run ads on that. So I’m going to take the opportunity to share my own solo piano music with you guys. I’ve been playing piano and writing originals almost my whole life, but just started making official releases in March of 2026. It may seem weird to see links to piano music after this video, but I really do think you’ll enjoy it! For me, playing piano eases my mind and reduces stress and anxiety. It has been shown to do the same for the listener as well. So come explore with me: linktr.ee/johnschroter

On “Meta and the Innovator's Dilemma”

>It wasn't "so much more advanced", it used a heavily power constrained ARM SoC with limited memory running a software stack ported over from desktop and gosh could you ever feel it. link to this video I highly recommend watching this.

On “My startup validation process”

Phone, music player, and internet communicator in a single device, that enabled worldwide communication reliably. Just the original phone solved voicemail (with visual voicemail) once and for all in one fell swoop. It was just echelons better. That part of the initial demo still continues to blow my mind. link Here’s the original introduction to the iphone: link to this video

On “Ask HN: How to show a not “so perfect” MVP to potential customers?”

If you want to se the ultimate MVP demo of a product look no further than the 2007 introduction of the Apple iPhone - link to this video It was not a finished product and the dev team was terrified that the system would crash. In fact you could argue that the first iPhone was an MVP released to the public. These would help: - Be upfront that this is an MVP. Do not try to sell it as a product that is a finished product - Create a script that shows the core working functionality - rehearse the script and make sure the feature list demonstrated and that you can run through the script - In your case, is it possible that you can dictate (you need to control the variables)? - Ask for feed back. Listen. Do no…

Even from the beginning it was more than a simple phone. It was at least a phone, an iPod, and a breakthrough internet communications device. link to this video

On “Ask HN: Which software do you use for your presentations?”

…re only to show content that you cannot explain with words alone - if I can read everything I need from your slides, then why are you here? Note: you would be surprised at the fierce oposition in big companies against slides that contain anything less than the content of the entire presentation. Always know your audience beforehand! 1 link 2 link to this video…
