An explanation of the mechanics of the call stack and why stack allocation is extremely fast compared to the heap.

Join CodeCrafters and learn by creating your own: Redis, Git, Http server, Interpreter, Grep... in your favorite programming language: app.codecrafters.io/join?via=jdvillal In this video we take a look at the Stack, which sometimes is called Hardware Stack, Call Stack, Program Stack.... Keep in mind that this is made for educational purposes, so many of the information is oversimplified for easy understanding.

What people say. Recommended as an excellent explanation of stack memory allocation and low-level performance.

On “Heap vs Stack memory”

Watch these videos as it doesn't seem like you really understand what the stack and heap are. Stack Heap

On “How variables are stored”

Variables are either stored on the stack or the heap. They can also be held in the small amount of memory in the CPU which are called registers, but it is just a copy. Variables called pointers have a value that is actually the memory address of another variable.
