A step-by-step guide to developing a Clojure project using REPL-driven development with Spacemacs, CIDER, and clj-kondo.

A 30 minute video showing how to develop a simple random function generator project in Clojure using REPL driven development with Spacemacs, CIDER and clj-kondo. The project generates 500+ lines of output which is managed by the CIDER inspector. UPDATE: the latest version of Cider uses the cider-clojure-cli-aliases variabel to include Clojure CLI aliases in a .dir-locals.el file. See practical.li/spacemacs/clojure-projects/project-configuratio… Spacemacs is a community configuration for Emacs and uses the CIDER project for its Clojure development environment. The project uses Clojure CLI tools to run the REPL and uses the practicallli/clojure-deps-edn user configuration to access a range of community tools. clj-kondo is used for static analysis, providing live linting as code is typed. practicalli.github.io/spacemacs/ also covers more general usage of Spacemacs and using the very powerful Vim-style editing approach. The video is using Evil state (vim style editing). If you are using Emacs style editing, substitute ` M-RET` or `M-m m` where I use `,` to open the major mode specific menu. For example, when you see `, e f` to evaluate an expression, in Emacs state it would be `M-RET e f` or `M-m m e f`
