A demonstration of a smarter, real-time integrated command line interpreter and a brief history of terminal-based computing.

A progress report on creating a smarter, kinder command line, as well as a bottled history of the early days of terminal-based computing.

What people say. Recommended for its awesome real-time integrated development demo and less invasive approach compared to modern IDEs.

Ran across this. Neat concept. Hey Oil-Shell guy! [video A bit of a slow start. Skip to the five-minute mark (precisely) for the goods. Shells are a kind of language. But they're also a kind of REPL. The real-time integrated development in this demo is awesome! And furthermore, it looks so much less irritatingly-invasive than the modern IDE. So I'm going to leave this here where the next K&R will see it.
