The ASP.NET Core team has acknowledged the need to improve their identity guidance and documentation. You must be very bold (or very frustrated) to want to roll your own. Last week they released a .NET 8 preview that simplifies things to the point that this video shows integrating a login system in two lines of code. Best of luck!

.NET 8 Custom Identity Register endpoint HI all, I followed this guide and it works but I noticed that even when I use my own user model that extends identity user I can still only register with username and email. Is there a way to add them to the request? Many thanks :)
