Mike James introduces the Avalonia UI framework, explaining its architecture, comparing it to Xamarin and MAUI, and demonstrating it in action.

In this session, we're going examine Avalonia ( avaloniaui.net/ ), a cross-platform .NET XAML based UI framework for developing apps for Windows, macOS and Linux, Android and iOS. I'll introduce you to Avalonia, explain its architecture, its strengths and weaknesses, and I'll jump into Visual Studio and write some code so that you can see it in action. We'll then consider how it fits into the broader .NET UI ecosystem and how you can approach selecting a UI framework for your next app. Lastly, I'll demonstrate how you can combine both Xamarin.Forms and Avalonia to provide the best of both worlds. Mike works at Microsoft as Cloud Advocate with a passion for .NET and all things tech.

Now it's marketed as production ready. DataGrid control is available. I would not worry about MAUI as it's not a direct competitor in terms of technology it provides. Here is great overview link to this video
