This video shows you how to set up your project the right way from day one. We'll cover everything from basic setup to some really cool tools - like using .editorconfig to keep your code clean, managing all your packages in one place, and catching bugs early with code analysis. You'll also learn how to package your app with Docker, orchestrate it using Docker Compose or the shiny new .NET Aspire, and automate your builds with GitHub Actions. Perfect for anyone who wants to level up their .NET game and build projects like a pro. What people say. Recommended for learning how to manage NuGet packages and project settings globally across a .NET solution.

On “Is this time to switch to VS Code or not yet?”

> (NuGets can only be updated or installed per project and there is no overall view of the installed NuGets in the solution) You can create build prop files at the solution root to manage packages across the whole solution with the .net CLI. That's what I use with vscode once I start to have a few projects that are overlapping on dependencies. Got the idea from this video since I'm a relative newbie to .net.

On “Any tips for setting up a larger solution being worked on by a team in 2025?”

This video has some good information that can help reduce conflicts across many projects in a solution. It's regarding the use of a couple of files at the solution level. Directory.Build.props for common project settings (nullable, implicit usings, etc) and the other is Directory.Packages.props which allows you to set the version of packages used across the project in a single place.
