A brief demonstration of a 32x32 RGB LED matrix module functioning as a news ticker and clock.

for a long time 32x32 rgb modules where prohibitively expensive, finding one for £18 I couldn't resist.....

Why it's here

What people say. Shared as an example of a fun Raspberry Pi project that can be programmed in C.

On “What are some fun raspberry pi projects in C?”

you can pick up 32x32 rgb matrices fairly cost effectively now a days ... at least 1 library I know for it has a C API for driving these displays. You could scrape rss news sites for headlines and scroll them on the led matrix, along with the time and so forth This would require other libs like for example libCurl to download the rss files, and an xml library to parse them... Its a non-trivial project, with every possibility of being "doable" and you'll end up with an interesting conversation topic when a guest first see it... [video
