Gerald Versluis demonstrates how to build native .NET MAUI applications using Blazor syntax instead of XAML with BlazorBindings.Maui.

You probably know .NET MAUI, you know Blazor Hybrid, but did you know you can still get platform native controls, but don't have to write XAML? Instead, use Blazor syntax, no XAML! That is what you can do with the .NET MAUI Blazor Bindings and the BlazorBindings.Maui package, which we will see in this video. 💝 Join this channel to get access to perks: youtube.com/channel/GeraldVersluis/join Disclaimer: this channel is done on personal title, in my free time, and not officially affiliated with or endorsed by Microsoft (my employer) in any way. On “.NET MAUI: Does anyone actually use it?”

…look/feel like what you'd expect if you're coming from Blazor, React, or any number of other systems. MAUI also suffers from a bit of a lack of documentation. If you're looking to go the old XAML path, it's probably not so bad. However, a lot of stuff is just in various blogs or videos. I'd definitely encourage people to watch these two videos: link to this video and link to this video I think those videos show what MAUI sort of is today, but also where Microsoft should be putting its energy for the future. Having things like IValueConverters that receive a generic object is just crappy in 2023. Anyway, I think there are some better ways to use MAUI than the default path, but I with Microsoft would commit to…

On “I'm creating an app using .net maui and blazor. I'm new to both but I've used wpf quite a lot. Is mvvm practical for this app or is there a better way to structure it?”

It's little bit out of topic but I recommend you to try No XAML for your project. I used .NET MAUI with C# code only to build standalone app, so not quite applicable to your question but you may think of this approach.
