Databases and dataPostgresSQL

Simon Riggs explains how to write and optimize graph search queries in PostgreSQL using recursive CTEs and new SQL features.

For more #webinars, visit enterprisedb.com/resources/webinars ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PostgreSQL allows recursive queries that can be used to write graph search queries. This talk looks at how to write and tune queries, as well as design databases for efficient graph search. We’ll also discuss the new SEARCH and CYCLE clauses in #PostgreSQL14. Key Takeaways: - Writing graph queries in SQL Optimizing shortest path searches - Utilizing new graph features in PostgreSQL 14 - Designing graph databases using #PostgreSQL. What people say. Recommended as an excellent guide on how to performantly write graph queries natively in PostgreSQL.

On “Experimenting with SQL:2023 Property-Graph Queries in Postgres 18”

I'd like to add that Postgres supports graph queries currently without AGE. Simon Riggs (RIP), a former core maintainer of Postgres, gave a lecture on how to performantly write graph queries for Postgres. Paul Ramsey, lead maintainer of Postgis, also wrote an article on the topic. Although I am a fan of AGE, it's not obvious to me how it optimizes better than Postgres's native support for graph queries.
