In this video I go through the most important ones: quantum computing, quantum metrology, the quantum internet, and quantum simulations. I explain what these are all about and how likely they are to impact our lives soon. I also tell you what frequently headline blunders to watch out for. What people say. Recommended as a realistic, hype-free overview of the actual state and limitations of quantum computing and quantum networks.

On “WOW: Researchers in the Netherlands have created the first multi-node quantum network, a step closer to building a "quantum internet" using entangled particles!”

Nothing really. The information is already being moved at the speed of light and it cannot be moved faster. In-transfer data interception can already be detected by monitoring parameters of transfer medium. Finally, we already have quantum-safe encryption algorithms that can be used with existing networks. Here's what Sabine thinks about quantum hype, for example: link to this video (All that said, I don't want to minimize the scientific complexity of this or the fact that that is a very nice scientific achievement).

My bad, but my point still stands, the internet is secure enough, we don't need quantum internet link to this video
