Platima Tinkers demonstrates how to connect to, flash, and boot Linux on the $8 Ox64 RISC-V single-board computer from Pine64.

Update Video: youtu.be/ZNq4HA6xMpc EDIT: The C906 is actually single core (thanks for catching that Browarus Pierogus). RV64 480MHz but apparently can be clocked up to 1GHz! Sorry for a few issues with table shake, focus, and zoom - nearly used to the new camera! This is also all unscripted, hence a few corrections in post. Note that the serial connection only disconnects because I'm using PuTTy which does not have serial reconnect like the Arduino IDE and some others do. Possibly obvious but note there is no RTC. I would not imagine it to be too hard to implement with a NiMH battery, ATtiny and I2C though. ❤ DON'T FORGET TO LIKE AND SUBSCRIBE! ❤ 💳 Patreon: patreon.com/platima ⚡ Power Consumption - Source: 5V - Without SD card: 103mA (this is high!) - Booting: 80-145mA (pretty normal) - Idle after boot: 86mA (not bad) 🔗 Resources - Wiki page: wiki.pine64.org/wiki/Ox64 - Purchase: shop.plati.ma/ - Linux stack: github.com/openbouffalo/buildroot_bouffalo - RPi Pico: amzn.to/3Yfqa3d (affiliate link) - CP2104 I use: shop.plati.ma/ 🛒 Shop: shop.plati.ma 💵 PayPal: paypal.me/PlatimaCash 📺 Other Channel: youtube.com/@platima 📷 Instagram: instagram.com/platimatinkers 🌏 Reddit: reddit.com/u/platimazero 📚 Chapters - Intro to the Ox64 single board computer - Comparison to Raspberry Pi Pico - Processor and features overview - Form factor and hardware comparison - Performance specs and advantages - Flashing preparation - Serial adapter options - Setting up power and connections - Serial port configuration - Using DevCube for flashing - Moving connections and inserting SD card - First Linux boot and resizing partition - Login and system exploration - Fast boot demonstration - Process summary and conclusion - Final thoughts and recommendations Licenses - Baud rates image: Stmboards, CC BY-SA 4.0 creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0, via Wikimedia Commons #Platima #Pine64 #eSBC

What people say. Recommended as a helpful guide for navigating the finicky process of booting Linux on the Ox64 SBC.
