Kim teaches the theory and practice required to pass the Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist exam using hands-on browser scenarios.

Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist (CKS) preparation! !!! USE Ubuntu 24.04 instances instead of the 20.04 shown in the video !!! This course does not include the 2024 changes and missing topics are: Cilium, PodSecurityStandards and SBOM. But these are included on killer.sh/cks and killercoda.com/killer-shell-cks. I will present each CKS topic in a simple and visual way. We'll run through various practical hands-on challenges. You'll setup own CKS cluster in which you'll learn, simple install scripts are provided. Instead of creating your own cluster you can also use the in-browser playground for mostly everything: killercoda.com/killer-shell-cks/scenario/playground. There are additional in-browser interactive scenarios to further study and harden your knowledge! Killercoda Scenarios: github.com/killer-sh/cks-course-environment/blob/master/Scen… Section Resources: github.com/killer-sh/cks-course-environment/blob/master/Reso… Github: github.com/killer-sh/cks-course-environment Slack Community: killer.sh/slack (channel cks) Chapters: Introduction and Welcome K8s Security Best Practices Create your course K8s cluster Crictl instead of Docker Foundation - Kubernetes Secure Architecture Foundation - Containers under the hood Cluster Reset Cluster Setup - Network Policies Cluster Setup - GUI Elements K8s Docs Version Cluster Setup - Secure Ingress Cluster Setup - Node Metadata Protection Cluster Setup - CIS Benchmarks Cluster Setup - Verify Platform Binaries Cluster Hardening - RBAC Cluster Hardening - Exercise caution in using ServiceAccounts Cluster Hardening - Restrict API Access Cluster Hardening - Upgrade Kubernetes Microservice Vulnerabilities - Manage Kubernetes Secrets Microservice Vulnerabilities - Container Runtime Sandboxes Microservice Vulnerabilities - OS Level Security Domains Microservice Vulnerabilities - mTLS Cluster Reset Open Policy Agent (OPA) Supply Chain Security - Image Footprint Supply Chain Security - Static Analysis Supply Chain Security - Image Vulnerability Scanning Supply Chain Security - Secure Supply Chain Runtime Security - Behavioral Analytics at host and container level Runtime Security - Immutability of containers at runtime Runtime Security - Auditing System Hardening - Kernel Hardening Tools System Hardening - Reduce Attack Surface CKS Simulator Please expect this course to take more time than just the recorded hours. For most topics you'll need some time to implement the scenarios yourself. Also breaks (hours or even days) between sections/topics should be advised to prevent brain implosion :) You should already have some Kubernetes A

The course I purchased on Udemy this year was amazing and is now available for free on YouTube! It’s from the creator of Killerkoda who are doing the practice exams you get when you buy a Linux Foundation Kubernetes exam. However, I got free access to the labs with my Udemy purchase, I’m not sure if those are free now too. Killerkoda isn’t too expensive tho iirc. Here’s the course: link to this video

Take a look at this but it’s a few years old now link to this video You used to have to pay a lot of money for that on Udemy I’ve brought a CKS study guide this time round to change things up a bit, but the curriculum is changing in September - not sure if you’re aware of that or not
