Daniel Tomes explains Apache Spark core internals, partitioning, shuffle behavior, and techniques for proper job optimization.

Optimizing spark jobs through a true understanding of spark core. Learn: What is a partition? What is the difference between read/shuffle/write partitions? How to increase parallelism and decrease output files? Where does shuffle data go between stages? What is the "right" size for your spark partitions and files? Why does a job slow down with only a few tasks left and never finish? Why doesn't adding nodes decrease my compute time? Essential/Recommended Recorded Talks on Airflow for beginners Hey All wanted to ask if there's a set of recommended recorded talks to watch for beginners of airflow who are past the intro stage. For example for Spark the intro Learning Spark book recommends these videos on optimization: video 1, video 2, video 3. Granted those were on the chapter on optimizations and seem more content for intermediate users but I was wondering if there's similar highly recommended talks for Airflow? Looking at the Apache Airflow youtube page going by popularity it would seem like This video on Airflow's Architectureor this video on a deep dive into the scheduler would be in the same spirit as t…
