Timothy Baldridge introduces the core.async library for Clojure and ClojureScript, demonstrating CSP patterns inspired by Go.
The new Core.Async library in Clojure opens a realm of new possibilities for users of the language. This talk will start with an overview of Core.Async, and then show several examples ported from other CSP languages, such as Go and JSCP. The talk will end with a example program that runs on both Clojure and ClojureScript, leveraging this new library. Timothy is a polyglot programmer with a passion for compilers and fast code. He is the author of clojure-py, Mjolnir, and several other compiler and interpreter related projects. He is an employee of Relevance Inc., and loves to discuss new programming concepts and ideas with anyone who will listen. Why it's here

…um in order to safe concurrent changes. It's a mutable in-place perspective. In contrast, core.async (& clojure, more generally) push you to think about all datums as immutable and as part of a set of changes over time.
Rich Hickey's rational doc (http://clojure.com/blog/2013/06/28/clojure-core-async-channels.html) and Tim Baldridge's intro talk (link to this video are good places to start. I haven't listened to Rich's InfoQ talk on the topic but suspect it's also quite good (https://www.infoq.com/presentations/clojure-core-async).
Are you trying out concurrency techniques to build a project? Or learning about the language?…

I'm biased (as the speaker) but I recommend this talk as a "hands on" approach to core.async: link to this video
Also I have a few tutorial videos on the subject here: https://tbaldridge.pivotshare.com/categories/core.async/1612/media
