On “Beginners question: How to become an embedded software developer? I have a background as a web development student.”

I'm also working on getting into embedded, through from a slightly different background (masters in physics). A few suggestions: Check out this article. Listen to the EmbeddedFM podcast and read through the associated blog. Pick up an arduino kit and go through a tutorial. There are loads of them, I liked these when I was learning arduino back in college. I'm sure there are many recommendations on the arduino subreddit. Note that some people hate on arduino but I think it's a great place to get started learning about the basics without getting overwhelmed. When you are are ready to be a little overwhelmed, go through the Embedded EdX course (the last session just finished but you can…

Jeremy Blum has a tutorial series for getting started with arduino. In my opinion Arduino over-simplifies a lot of things. It is great as an entry level learning tool and for hobbyists, but once you get the basics, I would try moving to another platform like stm32. I also think a lot of people would benefit from learning some verilog (FPGA). Even if you dont use it in your career, going through exercises like designing your own SPI, I2C, Uart etc modules will give you a much greater understanding of how the registers in an MCU operate.
