Mathias Bynens explains why parsing JSON is faster than parsing JavaScript object literals and how to leverage this for performance.

Because the JSON grammar is much simpler than JavaScript’s grammar, JSON can be parsed more efficiently than JavaScript. This knowledge can be applied to improve start-up performance for web apps that ship large JSON-like configuration object literals (such as inline Redux stores). On “A new library creating object 1.5 ~ 2x faster through JSON.parse()”

link to this video Your analysis is exact. I've published this library as I'd inspired by the youtube video what chrome team had made, but writing very long (8MB) literal object like the video is very abnormal case. However, I've another point of view. As you know, this is not a commercial project, but an open source project. Meaning or usefulness is such an import matter? I don't consider of it developing the open source project.
