Clear instructions to get hands dirty
It's well-known that you must get your hand dirty in order to learn coding. This
is relatively easier for other programming languages in 2020. I'd argue it's not
because there are fewer Haskell tutorials out there, but ironically the opposite
-- there are simply too many, at least to a beginner.
Last week, a major difficulty for me to learn Haskell was finally resolved
thanks to [tsoding's video
tutorials]. He taught me how to
interact with the interface of HackerRank in haskell, and showcased some basic
functions. It's intuitive enough for people who have a few coding experiences to
understand and start solving by themselves.
After playing with that…

Guidelines to staying pure and functional?
Tsoding has a series of basic haskell tutorials teaching newbies how to solve algorithmic problems in the haskell way. It has been quite helpful to me. The most important lesson learned is that *there are several ways to solve a problem even in haskell, but many of them are less clean*.
I recall my superficial reason why I approached haskell in the first place. It's simply because haskell is elegant, period. But since there are several ways to do stuff, it's easy to sabotage its elegance while one is too desperate to get things done.
Both the series above and the wonderful article address this issue, and they show ways that are much more elegan…
