In this video you'll learn how to get started with the AngularJS SPA framework. First you'll be introduced to what a SPA is and AngularJS features that simplify building SPAs. From there you'll see how to use directives, filters and data binding techniques. Next up is views, controllers and scope and the role they play followed by a discussion of modules, routes and factories/services. At the end a sample application built using AngularJS is shown.
Note that routing changes a little in AngularJS 1.2 or higher. You'll see a note about this in the appropriate spot in the video and can read about the changes at tinyurl.com/ngRoute.

On “Angular JS Kinda Sucks”
Documentation really is not beginner friendly. Try watching these screencasts which will introduce you to the workflow and the beauty of AngularJS and you will make a small application during the exercise: AngularJS Fundamentals In 60-ish Minutes by Dan Wahlin: link to this video Introduction to Angular JS by David Mosher: link

For Angular 1, I'd recommend sitting through Dan Wahlin's hour intro to Angular. Don't code, just watch. It really helped me get that initial chunk of knowledge in my head. link to this video

Intimidating was probably a poor choice of words. I guess odd would be better? Idk. It was just a deterrent for me. I can get over the syntax but the installation errors coupled with it being weird was just enough to make me drop the tutorial I was working on. I do hope to start working with React again. It took me a few times to really get into angular so I'm sure once a guide comes out that really gets the details right I'll be fine. Something like this1 for React would be amazing. 1. link to this video
