Donevan Dolby discusses structuring a large Clojure codebase for the Boeing 737 Max onboard diagnostic system using service frameworks and message queues.

This talk discusses the development of a feature-rich onboard application for the Boeing 737 Max. We structured our application with a service framework and message queues to enable communication between disparate parts of the service while preserving separation of concerns. The onboard diagnostic system designed for the Boeing 737 MAX checks and reports on over 6,000 faults, giving airplane technicians and maintenance crew a critical window to the health and performance of the aircraft.

On “Selling Clojure to Business(es)”

I think case studies would be most helpful here. 2 months early. 300k under budget by ThoughtWorks is a great example, Clojure at Scale from Walmart and Boeing 737 Max are a couple of others. However, more of such example would be nice to see. It would also be great if they were listed on clojure.com, the way scala.com has them.

On “New Clojurians: Ask Anything”

Here are a few: - Simple Made Easy (I tell everyone to watch this one) (https://www.infoq.com/presentations/Simple-Made-Easy) - Designing with Data (link to this video - Expert to Expert on Clojure (link to this video - Using Clojure with Boeing (link to this video - One Million clicks with Kafka and Clojure (link to this video The last one may be a bit high level if you're still new to Clojure, but, it shows how easy it is to design event-driven systems with Clojure. The first one is a MUST to anyone starting. It really opens your eyes to why OO isn't the best way, and what Clojure does better. Also, for a plethora of resources, you can use this site (my CTO's site). It's a large collection of talks, videos, guides, and reposito…
