What people say. Recommended as an excellent introduction to how interrupts and IRQs work in embedded systems.

On “Embedded Software Engineering internship phone interview”

First, don't get discouraged if you don't land this internship; if you are interested in this field, just grab an Arduino and start coding for it. Second, software engineers are often called on to ramp up quickly on new topics; here's your chance. You should at least start reading up on RTOS's, MMIO, and IRQs between now and then; it's one thing to tell them you don't have any experience with them, but you should have at least _heard_ of them and understand the basic concepts behind them. Many embedded devices have firmware that runs on "bare metal", meaning its just a C/C++ program with no underlying OS. But many use RTOSs, of which there are many free and commercial varieties, all genera…
