On “A Gentle Introduction to Programming Using Python”

Here's the MIT OCW index for EE and CS courses: link Here's the MIT OCW index for 6.00 w/ Grimson (2008): link Here's the first video lecture on YouTube: link to this video I should mention this is a really good (IMHO) CS course that happens to use Python.

On “How can I learn to program? ”

Here is an MIT Course: Introduction To CS and Programming link to this video Professor keeps everything simple and direct because this class is designed for beginners with no or little programming experience.

On “Khan Academy Computer Science”

I've really enjoyed watching the MIT 6.00 course (Introduction to Computer Science and Programming): link to this video The Khan videos seem to be about programming instead of computer science.

On “Ask HN: How would a high schooler find CS mentor?”

Make the entire Internet your mentor. It's filled with information and answers to all sorts of questions. Look at some programming tutorials such as codecademy. Maybe find some books on computer architecture, learn about mathematics that might apply to computer scientists. Here are some links to get you started. link link link link link link link Also, learn to use YouTube to search for answers. Check this video out. link to this video

On “Want to major in CS, what will give me a head start?”

Go ahead and watch this course in your spare time link to this video Opencourseware is a fantastic resource and since you aren't in college yet, it will give you an idea of what your class is going to be like! Stanford and UC Berkeley also offer full course videos! If I can offer you an advice it's Computer Science != Programming so don't go into the program with the attitude that you just want to learn a language and get out! Learn about the theory and logic behind the programming and you'll be able to pick up advanced topics and multiple languages so much easier and your future self will thank you.
