Not a CS version of NDT, but maybe a CS version of Cosmos: * The Machine That Changed The World is a great 5-part documentary that talks about the development of computers. I learned a lot from watching it.

"The Machine that Changed the World" is the best "all in one" CS documentary miniseries out there that I've seen.

On “What are some of the best computer / programming related documentaries out there?”

PBS did a documentary series called "The Machine that Changed the World". It's pretty dated now, but still has lots of great information and covers the early years into the 90's well (it was released in 1992).
