A demonstration of Doom Emacs running on PostmarketOS on a Pinephone, showcasing its performance and responsiveness.

Doom Emacs on PostmarketOS. Important: Using VNC and recording the window using OBS has added extra lag and tearing, it's faster and there's no tearing when actually using the pinephone. Also the visual quality has been reduced. Although the pinephone isn't fast, I found it fast enough in most aspects to be usable, scrolling was a bit too slow though. It was very impressive to see the pinephone rotate near instantly, I'd bet it's faster than any android phone (it's faster than my snapdragon 855 Android). As you saw, everything in doom works like in the desktop version, sone things were cropped out though, Spacemacs does better in this aspect. If this was on a faster phone and with a custom keyboard layout, it would be hands-down the best mobile editor I've used. Configuration is definitely needed (I will post config soon), hopefully there will be more optimizations to make it faster and fix the choppy scrolling (pixel based scrolling).

What people say. Shared as an interesting demonstration of running a full desktop Emacs configuration on a Linux phone.
