Stephen Wolfram discusses his efforts to use computational systems and cellular automata to build a new fundamental theory of physics.

Stephen Wolfram discusses his efforts to use what he's learned from exploring computational systems to build a new fundamental theory of all of physics. Watch the Q&A: youtu.be/uuQZ7iQH3Fg Stephen Wolfram is the creator of Mathematica, Wolfram|Alpha and the Wolfram Language; the author of A New Kind of Science; the originator of the Wolfram Physics Project; and the founder and CEO of Wolfram Research. Over the course of more than four decades, he has been a pioneer in the development and application of computational thinking—and has been responsible for many discoveries, inventions and innovations in science, technology and business. This talk and Q&A was recorded by the Royal Institution on 3 November 2020. --- A very special thank you to our Patreon supporters who help make these videos happen, especially: János Fekete, Mehdi Razavi, Mark Barden, Taylor Hornby, Rasiel Suarez, Stephan Giersche, William Billy Robillard, Scott Edwardsen, Jeffrey Schweitzer, Gou Ranon, Christina Baum, Frances Dunne, jonas.app , Tim Karr, Adam Leos, Michelle J. See Boolean Algebra Logic gates are indeed input -> output maps. Turns out the entirety of logic can be composed from NOR gates. Stephen Wolfram, the guy that created WolframAlpha and Mathematica, has also modeled all of physics as a set of changes of a form 'if these inputs, then change to these outputs.'
