Wilker Lúcio discusses how to design and implement graph APIs in Clojure, integrating them with GraphQL.

#DCD18 / clojuredays.org The film was recorded during Dutch Clojure Days 2018 Title: Implementing Graph API's with Clojure Speaker: Wilker Lúcio REST is taking a rest. Over the past years we are seeing a huge growth of graph API’s with GraphQL leading the way. In this talk I will describe what graph APIs can look like on the Clojure side, and even show you how to achieve the best of both worlds by integrating GraphQL with Clojure graphs!

On “Pathom 3 is coming”

Just to further expand on why you might want to use Pathom It's kind of like a GraphQL Server, you provide queries to it (commonly over a network) and it responds with data in the shape you asked, typically used with EQL (a EDN based query language), Pathom is very commonly used with Fulcro because Fulcro generates the EQL queries for you automatically - https://edn-query-language.org/eql/1.0.0/what-is-eql.html - https://github.com/fulcrologic/fulcro - link to this video - link to this video - link to this video It's interesting if you do full-stack web development

On “Web development with Clojure — an overview”

It's worth mentioning NextQL (my short name for Om.next query language :D) as a pure Clojure alternative to (text-based) GraphQL as a medium to communicate between server and client. There's a great library for that, too. The author gave a talk here. Just like GraphQL is not restricted to React, NextQL can be used with any Clojurescript client because of its pure Clojure nature.
