Don't worry too much about which board to start with. They all work very similarly. If you don't have a project in mind, just about anything will work. Popular starters are "the blue pill" (STM32-F103) and "Nucleo" boards. Nucleo is a family of board, and doesn't refer to anything specific. This video should help clear up some of your questions about picking your first board: [video

On “Question about Nucleo STM32”

The stm-32 has a hardware abstraction layer (HAL) that makes using the peripherals a little easier and a little more portable. A guy named Mitch Davis has some stm-32 videos, from a couple years ago, explaining the whole stm32cube ecosystem. This is the first of four videos you should watch at least twice. link to this video STM32 microcontrollers are similar to pic in that you configure the peripherals through registers that control the complex gating required to get peripherals on and connected to pins. You'll find much of the same types of peripherals, timers, serial comms (UART, SPI, I2C etc), ADCs. Interrupts and DMA. It may be a little more complex than PIC, also the interrupt control is…

On “Any recommendation for STM32 MCU Discovery kit toolchain?”

I am jus starting out with embedded and ran into some problems with Keil. I settled for the time being on STM32CubeIDE. I think I should've started there right from the outset. It has many examples and seems like the right choice for a beginner at least. There are many tutorials on youtube and I'd like to recommend Mitch for his awesome beginner tutorials. Realtively short, and foundational. I liked them. I will slowly get VSCode going and test it out.

On “Thank you guys for helping me developing this pedal!”

Thanks man. You asked me about STM32 ressources for beginners. Here is my answer: Hey frostyyiceberg. I'm not sure what your programming level is, but STM32 isn't too hard but it has a high learning curve at the very beginning. There's a lot of ressources, but this should get you started: I liked those Youtube series as a general introduction and what to expect when programming STM32 compared to Arduino: link to this video
