Only half way through the video, and haven't gone through your links yet (gotta sleep). But I was curious if you're familiar with this Scott Aaronson lecture. link to this video and your thoughts about his narrative.

Why in the world would i read a linkedin blog about qc when there are a million fantastic texed write ups by experts? Hell scott aaronson's personal blog is all about qc and he's a fantastic expositor (there's a lecture somewhere that he gave) link to this video http://www.scottaaronson.com/blog/?p=208 and the best way to get an idea is to try to understand a quantum algo so here's a writeup on shor's algorithm http://www.tnw.tudelft.nl/fileadmin/Faculteit/TNW/Over_de_faculteit/Afdelingen/Quantum_Nanoscience/Research/Research_Groups/Quantum_Transport/Research/Background_Information/Quanrum_Computation/doc/Quantum_computation_and_Shor.pdf
