A visual and auditory demonstration of 16 sorting algorithms using a disparity dot representation.

In this visualization, the distance of each dot from the center is determined by how correct of a position that number is in. For example, if the number 1 is in the middle of the array, it will produce a dot very close to the center, as it is supposed to be the first element in the array. However, if the number 1 is near the beginning or end of the array, it will produce a dot much further from the center. This means that, when fully sorted, every dot will be at its maximum distance from the center, and a circle (oval) will be produced.

What people say. Recommended as a beautiful and clear visualization of sorting algorithms, particularly radix sort.

You can say whatever you want, the best sounding sort is the radix base 10 (loud)

Yeah the dot version makes it clearer! Also radix LSD base 2 is the coolest sort graphic I've ever seen!

As somebody else posted (warning: loud), Radix is even better in 2-dimensions (at 3:38 in case the timestamp doesn't work, but I'd also recommend watching the whole video).

I love watching visualizations, I stumbled on this one recently. link to this video
