Steve Sanderson demonstrates Blazor, showing how it runs .NET in the browser via WebAssembly and experimenting with a Flutter renderer.

Today, nearly all browser-based apps are written in JavaScript (or similar languages that transpile to it). That’s fine, but there’s no good reason to limit our industry to basically one language when so many powerful and mature alternate languages and programming platforms exist. Starting now, WebAssembly opens the floodgates to new choices, and one of the first realistic options may be .NET. Blazor is a new experimental web UI framework from the ASP.NET team that aims to brings .NET applications into all browsers (including mobile) via WebAssembly. It allows you to build true full-stack .NET applications, sharing code across server and client, with no need for transpilation or plugins. In this talk I’ll demonstrate what you can do with Blazor today and how it works on the underlying WebAssembly runtime behind the scenes. You’ll see its modern, component-based architecture (inspired by modern SPA frameworks) at work as we use it to build a responsive client-side UI. I’ll cover both basic and advanced scenarios using Blazor’s components, router, DI system, JavaScript interop, and more. Check out more of our talks in the following links! A Proposal to Microsoft: Adopt Flutter, don't double down on failed approaches I have created a proposal for Microsoft that I believe creates a clear go-forward path like Chromium Edge did before it that gives Microsoft a clear and viable approach in the consumer space and consumer development. The current approach of Project Reunion is nothing but a stop gap for an ever-shrinking market of developers. Maui is nothing more than a rebranded Xamarin Forms with some syntactic sugar. Neo and Duo are doomed if Microsoft doesn't get a developer plan. Google has asked for help with Flutter on Windows. I say give them that help, and get C# working against the Flutter rendering engine and go all i…

Blazor UI rendering without HTML I watched the Blazor presentation at NDC Oslo ([video ), where they have shown Blutter and one thing still is bothering me - what else apart from Flutter and HTML+JS could be used to render UI with Blazor? And how? Does it mean that we may expect XAML there in the future? Especially when taking into account decoupling XAML framework from UWP SDK. https://i.redd.it/mozgp9iv6ub31.jpg
