LuixBits shares their experience transitioning from Obsidian to Doom Emacs, including installation on NixOS and basic commands.

I think I found the one! Emacs Doom has me thinking about it non-stop. I still haven't figured out half of what it can do. But I'm eager to find out! The animations in the beginning were done with motion canvas, just writing this here so I can call you out for not reading the description. What people say. Shared by a user struggling to transition from Neovim to Emacs as a reference point for learning.

First time Emacs coming from neovim and I'm struggling I've been looking for a proper Obsidian replacement and went from Logseq to Neorg, and now finally to Emacs/Doom Emacs. It has been hard to get started. I'm reading "Mastering Emacs", but it doesn't really help me figure out what I should focus on first. I also struggle to sit through long winded tutorials, so I tried just diving in and learning by breaking things. Should I first learn plain Org files, agenda/tasks, capture templates, org-roam, or something completely different?
