On “[proof-of-concept] boa: static guarantees for module imports”

What you speak of sounds a lot like Liquid Haskell. Maybe you want to go and check that out. I did a quick search and found this talk about it which also seems to have some live-coded examples: link to this video > It seems CPP support (understandably) is not provided (yet); but it might be useful, e.g. "make sure module X is only imported when necessary, i.e. when base<4.8" or something in that direction. I hadn't thought of that before, I will put it on the list of possible future things to do. (In other words it is currently buried under a pile of stuff I have to do to get boa past the proof-of-concept stage.)
