Marti Bolivar explains the design and implementation of Zephyr's devicetree subsystem to help debug common build errors.

The Zephyr® Project strives to deliver the best-in-class RTOS for connected resource-constrained devices, built to be secure and safe. Click here to learn more: zephyrproject.org Zephyr Devicetree Mysteries, Solved - Marti Bolivar, Nordic Semiconductor Speakers: Marti Bolivar Devicetree is a foundational part of Zephyr. It is a domain-specific language and data format used throughout the project for describing the hardware a Zephyr application runs on, as well as its initial configuration. Despite its widespread use, however, it is often regarded as a mysterious area, and it can be difficult to diagnose build errors related to devicetree. This talk describes the design and implementation of the Zephyr's devicetree subsystem, going beyond the user-facing API to describe implementation details underlying common confusion." What people say. Recommended for understanding Zephyr's devicetree preprocessor magic and debugging build errors.

…ittle bit for now. I would like to add devicetree & binding (dts and yaml go hand in hand), and Preprocessor magic somewhere. Preprocessor magic is important because it is extensively used in the framework, and hard to debug (error messages exponentially harder to understand when compared to compiler errors) Throwing some useful links here: [video Devicetree preprocessor magic explained [video a firstlook at zephyr build system. You might quickly find that there are a lot of parallels between nordic SDK tutorials and zephyr tutorials, I recommend follow Nordic's instructions first. https://academy.nordicsemi.com/courses/nrf-connect-sdk-fundamentals/ free training module! https:/…
