A time-lapse demo showing how to develop a cross-platform 2D game in Swift using the Blurrr SDK.

Update: See The Android Addendum: youtu.be/w6FY_qSi8yY --- A time-lapse workflow show developing of a cross-platform app in Swift using Blurrr SDK. Blurrr is a brand new, lightweight, native SDK that lets you develop cross-platform 2D games, with a back-to-fundamentals attitude. Instead of black box cookie cutters, Blurrr promotes understanding and control so you can implement original ideas. Blurrr embraces all things native, from its native backend core in C for performance, to giving you access to native platform APIs, to allowing you to use native development tools. Blurrr also supports multiple languages (C, Lua, JavaScript, Swift). In this time-lapse video, see how quickly you can go from starting a new project in Swift, to developing across multiple platforms natively, to sharing the same code base and unified build system, and finally customizing for their unique features. This demo goes from SteamOS to OS X to iOS to Raspberry Pi 2. Single code base. Unified build system. Native development. Teaser showing cross-platform workflow for 2D games in Swift I’ve been developing a new SDK called Blurrr. I wanted to share this video showing a cross-platform development scenario using Swift language to make an app for SteamOS (Linux), OS X, iOS, and Raspberry Pi 2, all sharing the same code base and unified build system. link to this video Under the hood, SDL provides the common platform layer. The build system is built on top of CMake. I have been adding Swift support to CMake. Even if you aren’t interested in my SDK, I thought it would be interesting for people to see how much is already possible with Swift today. Thanks for reading!
