A short demonstration of modeling a rolling oloid using Clojure and a constructive solid geometry library for 3D printing.
Did you know that there's a whole class of rolling objects that aren't cylinder or spheres? I didn't! Paul Schatz discovered a really cool one in 1929, the oloid. Every part of it's surface will touch the ground after one revolution of rolling, unlike a sphere/cylinder. I made this one using clojure and the scad-ctl CSG library, printed on a Prusa i3 MK3.
