Ari Lerner discusses strategies, UI frameworks, and performance techniques for building mobile applications using AngularJS.

Angular on the go: Using Angular to power Mobile Apps Speaker Ari Lerner is the author of ng-book, curator of ng-newsletter, and co-founder of fullstack.io. Angular is flexible for prototyping web applications quickly and powerful enough to power production-ready applications. For the desktop, for sure, but what about for the mobile platform? Do the same rules apply? In this talk, we'll discuss the options we have available for building mobile apps with Angular. We'll look at UI frameworks and toolchains. We'll look at ways to produce the best user experience for our users, from reducing latency from server to device as well as techniques to keep our apps responsive. I'm trying to create a splash screen using AngularJS as described in this talk on the AngularJS youtube channel: link to this video It uses the ng-cloak directive. Here's the HTML: <head><head> <body ng-app> <!-- inline styles --> <div class="splash" ng-cloak=""> <p>Loading</p> </div> <!-- Rest of app --> </body> And the CSS: ng-cloak.splash { display: block !important; } ng-cloak { display: none; } .splash { background-color: #428bca; } Here is a fiddle: http://jsfiddle.net/TimFogarty/LaBvW/2/ In the fiddle, the splash div does not disappear as the talk said it would. Is there something wrong with this code? Have I made a mistake? How can I implement this splash screen?
